As we approach the halfway point of summer, I have begun to settle into my new role. With that, I want to take some time to introduce myself to the community. My name is Gina Feldt, and I am the lucky one who gets to lead the charge in the middle school. I have already been meeting with teachers, learning about so many great aspects of our students and staff, and preparing to start the year. It’s an exciting time as I look toward the future and how we can continue the tradition of excellence that is deep rooted.

While being the middle school principal is a new role for me, I am not a stranger to Jesup CSD and the community. I was fortunate to teach here from 2017-2019 and my husband, Jay, taught here from 2018-2023. We have met so many wonderful people and know that this town is full of pride for the school. I’m thrilled to be a part of that J-Hawk community again.

Prior to this year, I was an instructional coach at Union Community School District for four years. That was a great learning experience for me and provided me the opportunity to get my Master degree in Educational Leadership. As some of you may know, Jay is in the military, so we moved around a lot before coming back to Iowa. I have taught fourth through eighth graders in Colorado, Louisiana, Georgia, Germany, and of course Iowa. While each location had its positives, there’s no place like home!

I’m excited to make Jesup my new home where I can stick around for a while. Jay and I, along with our son Nolan, will be around quite a bit, attending activities and being a part of the community. Please say hi and introduce yourself if you see me!
