Middle School

Welcome to Jesup Middle School where we entrench the district’s vision of “High Expectations, High Achievement”. Our middle school consists of grades five through eight. The enrollment in the middle school averages approximately 240 students.

 

Our focus in academics is based on the START principles. Classes are Student-centered. Teachers Teach for understanding of the Iowa Core. Assessment of students’ skills are data-driven and are done informally and formally throughout the year. The curriculum is Rigorous and relevant and Teaches to all learners.

 

Our exploratory classes provide opportunities to explore agriculture, engineering, Iowa History, financial literacy, guidance and career choices, technology, fine arts, and health.

Our teachers have chosen to be part of this unparalleled age group because of the students’ transition from being dependent thinkers to independent thinkers.
